Each of the 55 sonnets (26 for Part One and 29 for Part Two) is printed in Rilke's original German and in a translated version by Stephen Mitchell.
Folio. Colour woodcut frontispiece by Balthus to each of the two parts. Original publisher's tan goatskin-backed coarse cloth boards, paper title label to upper board.
